CASE STUDY:
BENEFITS MADE SIMPLE
Streamlining Benefits Administration
Summit helps an employer reduce administrative complexity, enhance employee benefits, and achieve significant long-term savings.
THE CHALLENGE
A growing employer with 20 employees was managing benefits across multiple ancillary insurance carriers with renewal schedules that did not align with medical and dental coverage. This created ongoing administrative challenges and required frequent coordination between carriers.
The employer also wanted to improve the enrollment experience and strengthen its benefits offering without increasing overall costs.
WHAT WE DID
Summit conducted a collaborative pre-renewal review to evaluate carrier consolidation opportunities, align renewal schedules, and identify technology solutions that could simplify benefits administration.
Summit consolidated carrier relationships and implemented a benefits administration platform at no additional cost.
Through a competitive carrier review, Summit secured a solution that delivered cost savings, aligned ancillary renewals with the group’s medical renewal cycle through a 32-month rate guarantee, and added Voluntary Life, Accident, and Critical Illness coverage. Summit also coordinated employee education and enrollment support to ensure a smooth transition.
THE RESULT
The employer realized more than $10,000 in annual savings and positioned the group for approximately $30,000 in cumulative savings over 3 years.
The new strategy aligned renewal schedules, reduced administrative burden, and enhanced the employee enrollment experience. Strong participation in the new voluntary benefits helped create a more competitive and engaging benefits program for employees.
