Family Matters: Understanding Family Medical Leave

This session provides you with information about the concern Employers have regarding workplace productivity and their focus on managing employee absences. This course covers information on the federal Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) as well as various state leave laws.

As more and more states are enacting paid family and medical leave legislation, it is important to coordinate these polices with the Employers’ own leave policies. We will also discuss the challenges that Employers face when managing the various absence types and how all of these programs interact with statutory paid medical/family leave programs. Insurance company practices can help administer, coordinate and integrate these programs.

Understanding these leave management laws, hidden costs of non-compliance and leave management administration options will be most helpful to you as an Employer, as you manage the process for your employees.
